A vegetarian diet really is easier on the environment.

When I was 14 I became a vegetarian...it wasn't difficult, and for me it has continued to be an important part of my identity. For a speech I wrote in high school, I researched all of the great reasons to be a vegetarian. I remember at that time connecting factory farming with land degradation, water pollution and other environmental traumas. In the years since, my interest and passions have focused ever more greatly on the ways in which a vegetarian diet is easier on the environment, animals and our bodies.
